If you can, you should definitely make it a point to visit some of the off the beaten path destinations in the caribbean. Antigua Barbuda is a pristine island about 4 hours away from NYC. It’s not “American in the caribbean”. It’s a unique beautiful yet rural country with a distinct vibe, great food, extremely friendly locals and picturesque beaches.
