The “C” Word

Happy Sunday everybody! I know, I’m all cheerful right? 🙂 Sunday is my fav day of the week. And a sunny Sunday in February? Well, that’s just icing on the cake. I’m on my to go swimming and then of course brunch but I wanted to share this outfit with you guys first.

I go through these phases, sometimes I’m obsessed with dresses. I mean just throwing on one piece and accessorizing is pretty easy but lately I’ve been big into separates for going out. It really depends on my mood how much I want to suffer for fashion but more often than not, if I’m going to be out for hours and hours I really do want to be comfortable. I know the “C” word, in fashion is like dropping the F bomb in front of your grandma. But, I don’t care sometimes it’s just that way!

A great way to be the “C” word when going out is pairing a nice cozy sweater with a flouncy skirt. Here’s how I did it. And yes, I took advantage of our freakishly warm winter and rocked bare legs.

Here’s what I’m wearing:

Color block sweater – c/o Lane Bryant (I featured this one in my last haul video on YouTube)

Black skirt – Norma Kamali

Booties – Faryl Robin via Barefoot Tess

Necklace – Forever 21

  1. That skirt! It looks like it has pockets, please say it's so! I'm looking for a flirty skirt like that in red or yellow (or both) for spring.

Hey love, it doesn't but it is great and did come in red I really regret not getting it! I bought it last summer.

  2. I LOVE THAT SWEATER!! Its perfect, chunky for the chill but bright for the unseasonable warmth. You never fail with the fabulousness!!!

Hey Annette – she does a great line for Walmart but I got it last summer so I'm not sure if you'll be able to find it. xx

  3. Sorry, not loving the look. I am not a fan of cropped tops on us plus sized dolls. As a rule, I think they usually make up look wide and boxy. I might like the sweater better with a pencil skirt? I can't be all negative tho, your face and hair look lovely.

    1. And I Get Dressed

No worries! Not everything is for everybody 🙂 The sweater isn't cropped though, the bottom tier of the color layer is black so it sort of blends into the skirt. I really love the sweater. If this version isn't for you, they have an all white one that's great too! xo

  4. You look great! Thank you for the list of where you shop. I always have a hard time finding stylish clothes in my size. 🙂

Very sweet Leilani! There are so many options these days, the internet is a great tool. Many sites offer free returns so don't be afraid if something may not fit.
