I hate peplums. No I don’t, yes I do…no I don’t. (sigh)

Scuba Origami Peplum and White Skinny Jeans: ASOS Curve, Bag: Dolce Gabbana

My love hate relationship with this damn silhouette confuses even me. I guess it’s because I really do like it but the peplum became sooooo overdone that I just abandoned it completely. It’s since become a wardrobe staple (still not interested).

Well…add a few fresh updates and it’s back in my closet. I’m liking the new origami inspired details and asymmetrical hems on peplums this season so, it’s back on the love list. Today at least.

  1. This looks so great on you. And I think this peplum works so because the focus is on the origami draping and not actually the peplum. This makes it a timeless piece and not a fashion fad.

  2. I am so pleasantly surprised by this piece. Like you, I have no patience for peplum, but this has to be the exception. Is it just me….I never thought I had a particularly long torso, but the peplum hem hits me right below the bust line and then the flare is WAY too high. Eeerg. I have one peplum blouse from City Chic that I will let see the light of day…but only then under a sweater. I just can't. You'll have to continue the journey from here alone …. God's speed.
