Wardrobe Remix: That Brand New Feeling

It’s easy to get caught up with all of the new things you want for the upcoming fall season but I find that it’s important for me to go through my closets to figure out which pieces from last year will make the cut.

Blazer: Vintage, Crop Top: ASOS (main range),  Silk Skirt: Ports 1961, Necklace: Topshop, Bag: Vintage

I’m big on purging but I’m trying to be less wasteful and not get rid of everything. Generally speaking, I have very little emotional attachment to clothes and it’s really easy for me to lose interest in pieces after a few wears. Completely impractical yes, I’m aware.

So, I’m taking a different approach to my seasonal purge by being much more discerning regarding what I’m getting rid of and, putting little more thought into how I can remix pieces so that they can give me that warm and fuzzy feeling all over again. Everything that I’m wearing with the exception of my necklace and my sunglasses were purchased last year and got quite a bit of wear.

Style Tip: My Ports 1961 skirt was a fantastic investment but the lace hem is pretty specific and doesn’t make it easy for the skirt to feel new. I yanked it up, pinned it et viola the skirt feels fresh. Don’t be afraid to tuck, pin, cut, alter a piece you love to give it a different vibe.
