I’m not reeeeeally a devil – it’s just a song silly!
Growing up in Philly in a pre ASOS Curve, Forever 21 world as a teen I felt really resigned to the usual suspects in plus fashion and hence I got super creative to figure out how to look they way I wanted to look (for the most part) by “making it work”.
I moved to NYC at the very beginning of my 20’s and stumbled upon a pretty big job on Wall Street for which, all of the club kid clothes I owned wouldn’t work. I asked a few friends, “where do I go?!?” – Macy’s was the overwhelming answer. Enter Herald Square…
I walked around mouth agape! An entire floor full of clothes in my size. I was beside myself. And thus, a love affair with Macy’s began.
A decade later, the Herald Street location of Macy’s has grown to include so many amazing brands that are perfect for what I think is a more diverse lifestyle. Not just what I would consider work clothes. As a creative professional, I have so much more freedom in what I wear so I don’t really go for the traditional but now with the super cute Jessica Simpson line, American Rag, Ginger by Lucky Brand there are so many more options. The store is currently being renovated, the finished parts are all shiny and wow looking ha! Can’t wait to see what they do with the 7th floor (“Plusland” as I call it).
