Vintage Fatshion

Last weekend I went to visit my parents in Philly and I also met up with Corrinn from The Fuller Figure who took me on the BEST vintage shopping trip. She calls herself a curator of plus size vintage fashion and will be selling pieces on her site very soon!

When Corrinn invited me on this little vintage mission, I gladly accepted! I’m not a huge vintage shopper, I love it…and when I lived in Philly (8 million years ago), I did go more often but since I’ve been in NYC, I almost never do it.

I’m so glad that I went, when you can 3 bags of really cool pieces for under $50, it’s a great day! Don’t be mad at me but I haven’t taken pictures of everything I got just yet, I think that I’ll end up doing a video. But I wanted to share the experience and a few pics.

I’m really particular about what I wear and Corrinn ran around at light speed pulling pieces for me and I loved nearly all of it! So if you’re the kind of girl who doesn’t like digging or isn’t really sure what works for you, she has great taste and is really good at pulling pieces for other people based on their aesthetic. I did follow behind her picking up additional pieces that I liked but I think we made a great team.

When shopping vintage, some things will work and some won’t but don’t be discouraged. You really have to try everything on. Sizes don’t mean much, you have to know what cuts and fabrics work for your body. If you don’t know, you’ll learn in the dressing room. I loved this little hat but it was just that, little. And, my head is…big lol

This one worked! I might be having an Indiana Jones moment this fall…

Green has been my staple color this season. I couldn’t resist this dress with the cute white buttons that Corrinn pulled for me! It was only $3.99!

I promise to show you all of the stuff I got, it was a lot! Amazing dresses, blazers, lots of fab finds. Of course I had to take a few pics of what I wore, super casual Saturday outfit.

Here’s what I’m wearing:

Top: ASOS Collection

Pants: Avenue

Shoes: BFT

Necklace: Ashley Stewart

Bag: Alexander Wang

  1. Looking forward to seeing what you found! I have never had much luck thrift shopping as an adult though I did it often as a struggling college student years ago. I'm going to have to give it a try! OH and can't wait to see the Indy hat in action!

  2. That green/blue dress looks AMAZING on you! Thrift shopping can be difficult as a plus size, but not impossible!

  3. Glad you had a great time thrifting. Whenever I go to a new city, I try to go thrifting there. Philly is up next this coming September. I can't wait.

Oooh. Funny enough, I was checking out those printed pants at Avenue the other day. But I decided to go with the other design they had (black and tan squares). You look great!

    1. And I Get Dressed

That's a cool idea, I travel a lot so I should try to check out their thrift shops. I have those other pants too 🙂

  4. Which thrift stores in Philly do you visit? I'm in school here now and it would be great to visit a shop where I can actually find my size!
